1. The 5-Step Onboarding Wizard
When you first install SuperGST, a guided 5-step wizard helps you configure your store for immediate compliance:
- Step 1: Choose Template: Select from 4 professional print themes (Sharp, Bold, Celestial, or Enterprise) with a real-time interactive document preview.
- Step 2: Store & Address Details: Enter your legal Business Name, Customer Support Phone, Street Address, City, State (normalized to official 2-digit GST state codes), Postal Code, and Country.
- Step 3: Tax Settings: Enter your 15-character statutory GSTIN, choose your default fallback GST rate (0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%), and configure whether to charge GST on customer shipping fees.
- Step 4: B2B GSTIN Collection: Learn how to embed the buyer GSTIN capture block onto your cart drawer or cart page to capture business tax IDs.
- Step 5: Setup Complete: Celebrate setup completion and review subscription plan options.
2. Business Profile Settings
In Settings > Business Profile, you can configure mandatory statutory disclosures required on every legal tax invoice:
- Legal Business Name: The exact entity name registered on the government GST portal.
- GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number): Your 15-character statutory registration number.
- Permanent Account Number (PAN): Your 10-character PAN (e.g.,
ABCDE1234F), validated according to official statutory regex rules. - Registered Business Address: Principal place of business including street address, city, and postal code.
- State Code: Select your operating state (e.g., Code
27for Maharashtra,07for Delhi,29for Karnataka). This determines whether local orders incur intra-state CGST + SGST or inter-state IGST. - Optional Statutory Certifications: Toggle and input additional regulatory credentials where applicable:
- FSSAI License Number: 14-digit statutory license mandatory for food, beverage, and health supplement businesses.
- Import Export Code (IEC): 10-character alphanumeric code for cross-border export merchants.
- Corporate Identity Number (CIN): 21-character registration number for registered Private Limited and Public Limited companies.
3. Tax Rates & Shipping Settings
In Settings > Tax Rates & Shipping, configure your store-wide tax defaults:
- Default Fallback GST Rate: Applied when products in Shopify lack specific tax rates (options: 0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%; default 18%).
- Charge GST on Shipping Fees: Toggle on or off according to your business model.
- Shipping Tax Rate: When shipping GST is enabled, select the tax rate applied to delivery fees (0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%; default 18%).
- HSN on B2C Invoices: Toggle whether to display HSN codes on consumer retail invoices.
4. Logo & Authorized Signature
In Settings > Logo & Signature, upload high-resolution assets to personalize your print documents:
- Company Logo: Upload your brand logo (PNG or JPEG, transparent background recommended). Uploaded securely to Cloudflare R2 object storage.
- Authorized Digital Signature: PNG format with a transparent background. Rule 46 of the CGST Rules permits authorized signatories to digitally sign tax invoices.
- Signatory Designation: Customize the signatory title displayed beneath the signature image (e.g., "Authorized Signatory" or "Director").
5. Email Automation & Native Notification Triggers
In Settings > Email Automation, toggle native Shopify notification triggers:
- Native Email Automation Trigger: When enabled, SuperGST sets the Shopify order metafield
custom.gst_invoice_generated = trueas soon as an invoice PDF is compiled and uploaded. - This boolean trigger allows your native Shopify Order Confirmation and Shipping Confirmation emails to conditionally display an official invoice download button linking to the storefront App Proxy.
