Agreement Overview
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the installation, access, and use of the SuperGST application (“App”) provided by Starmatic Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Starmatic”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) to Shopify merchants (“Merchant”, “You”, or “Your”). By installing or using SuperGST on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Scope of Service & Application Capabilities
SuperGST is a high-performance, cloud-hosted SaaS application designed for Indian e-commerce merchants operating on the Shopify platform. The App automates tax compliance and document generation in accordance with Indian Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), and Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) regulations.
- Automated Tax Invoices (B2C & B2B)
- Real-Time Buyer GSTIN Validation
- Automated Credit Notes & Refunds
- Packing Slips & Barcode Rendering
- Pro Forma Draft Orders & Estimates
- GSTR-1, GSTR-3B & Tally Exports
2. Merchant Responsibilities & Tax Compliance
While SuperGST provides automated state-wise tax engine calculation (CGST + SGST vs. IGST) based on your merchant state registration and customer shipping address, the Merchant remains solely responsible for:
- Providing valid and accurate GSTIN registration details, legal business names, and registered business addresses.
- Configuring correct per-product HSN / SAC codes and applicable GST tax slabs (e.g., 5%, 12%, 18%, 28%) in accordance with GST Council rules.
- Filing final monthly and quarterly GSTR returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) with tax authorities.
- Uploading authorized digital signature files (SVG/PNG) that you have legal permission to use.
3. OAuth Permissions & Data Access
To perform automated invoicing, SuperGST requires specific OAuth scopes authorized by the merchant upon installation:
read_orders, write_orders: Required to listen for order creation webhooks, compute tax line items, and attach generated PDF invoices to Shopify customer orders.read_products, write_products: Required to sync per-product HSN codes and tax fallback rates.read_customers: Required for B2B GSTIN registration lookup and customer billing details.
4. Data Security, Privacy & Compliance
Starmatic Technologies implements enterprise-grade security protocols to protect all tenant data:
All Shopify OAuth tokens and session data are stored encrypted in PostgreSQL using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption.
All database records strictly enforce foreign-key scoping to tenant IDs, preventing cross-merchant data leakage or unauthorized access.
PDF invoices, brand logos, and digital signature assets are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 S3-compatible cloud storage with HTTPS access controls.
SuperGST fully implements mandatory Shopify privacy webhooks (CUSTOMERS_DATA_REQUEST, CUSTOMERS_REDACT, SHOP_REDACT, APP_UNINSTALLED).
5. Subscription Plans, Billing & Usage Quotas
SuperGST operates under native Shopify Subscription Billing integration:
- All plan upgrades, downgrades, free trials, and recurring billing charges are processed directly through your official Shopify invoice account.
- Usage limits (monthly invoice quotas) are tracked accurately. If a merchant exceeds their plan limit, invoice generation will pause until the plan is upgraded or the billing cycle resets.
- Free Trial periods allow full testing of features. If you uninstall SuperGST before the trial period expires, no recurring app charges will be billed by Shopify.
6. Service Availability & Background Processing
SuperGST utilizes asynchronous background event queues (powered by Inngest event pipelines) to render PDF invoices, compile bulk ZIP downloads, and synchronize order webhooks without slowing down your online store checkout. While we maintain a target 99.9% uptime SLA, Starmatic Technologies is not liable for temporary service interruptions caused by Shopify platform outages, Cloudflare network maintenance, or third-party internet downtime.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Starmatic Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and its directors, employees, or agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, tax penalties, interest charges, or data loss resulting from:
- Incorrect merchant tax rate configurations, wrong HSN codes, or inaccurate legal details entered by the merchant.
- Failures or delay in government GST portal APIs or B2B GSTIN verification services.
- Any unexpected downtime or API scope changes enacted by Shopify.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes, claims, or proceedings arising out of or in connection with SuperGST shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
